A few months ago, the rumor of David Beckham playing in Copa Libertadores seemed like a wild publicity stunt for Bolívar owner Marcelo Claure. Today the rumor resurfaced but from another source. Argentine media mogul and vice president of San Lorenzo announced that "David Beckham could played the semifinals of the Copa Libertadores with Bolívar against San Lorenzo".
Nos levantamos con la noticia que David Beckham podría jugar las semis de copa para el Bolívar de Bolivia contra San Lorenzo. Se pone lindo

Tinelli, always a showman in his own right, started a major media storm with that tweet. He is obviously looking to add more excitement to the Copa Libertadores semifinal against Bolívar as there is no official confirmation from Beckham himself or his current partner in the MLS Miami project, Claure, regarding that possible move.
Bolívar have been one of the biggest surprises in an absolutely surprising Copa Libertadores. The Bolivian side reached the semifinals of this tournament for the first time in 28 years after defeating Argentine side Lanús in La Paz on Thursday. After a slow start to their campaign, the hiring of Spanish coach Xabier Azkargorta the club has been extremely solid at least in Copa Libertadores play.
Domestically, Bolívar has struggled as they've prioritized international play since their run of form that dates back to the group stage of the tournament. Currently the club is in seventh place in the Bolivian league with two rounds left.
After the World Cup, Bolivia will resume play as will the Copa Libertadores when the semifinals will take place in July 23 and 30. The finals of the tournament will take place in August.
Right now, with the news coming out of Bolivia in the past few days Could there be a chance that David Beckham also faces off against Bolivian president Evo Morales' and Sport Boys Warnes?
