David Beckham isn’t just a star on the soccer field; he’s a star off the field too. On Monday night the sports celebrity took time out of his schedule to meet some of his fans at the second annual Cartoon Network Hall of Game Awards and he picked up the special Icon Award.
With over 100 million votes received, Beckham and other celebrities were honored with awards from the kids who love them. As for David Beckham he was given his award by New Orleans Saints star quarterback Drew Brees. When Beckham came on stage to thank everyone, he brought along his son, Cruz Beckham who seemed overwhelmed at the sight of the big crowd.
The popular sports icon isn’t just well known in the Los Angeles area as he plays on the Los Angeles Galaxy team, but is known around the world for his talent. In fact he is such a celebrity that he has his own line of clothing and was seen on Super Bowl Sunday with a commercial just about his clothing.
The entertainer didn’t need to show off any skills to thank the kids who voted for him at the Hall of Game Awards, but he most certainly got the chance to meet a few of the audience members and show off his new award.
