David Beckham is following in the footsteps of his wife, style-maven Victoria Beckham.  The always well-dressed Mr. Beckham announced today he is launching a range of men's bodywear that will include underwear and relaxed separates. "I have had the idea of doing a bodywear collection for some time now," Becks told Vogue magazine.

The Victoria Beckham Collection is a hit with ladies who love structure and great tailoring, as well as loved by celebs such as Jennifer Hudson. Victoria, who is currently pregnant with the couple's fourth child, is fully supportive of her husband's new career choice and so are we!  

Both of the Beckhams have fragrances on the market, but David plans to release a new fragrance later this year named Homme by David Beckham. Along with business partner Simon Fuller, who is the brains and money behind the $1 billion franchise American Idol, Beckham just may be quite successful.

"The push to do something of my own really came as a result of my collaboration with Armani. They told me that their gross turnover in 2007 was around €16 million ($22.8 million), and after the campaign in 2008 it went up to €31 million ($44.2 million), in 2008.  It proved to me that there is a real market for good-looking, well-made men's bodywear." Or at least David Beckham's body can sell some skivvies.

"With my team we have spent time working on the fit, the fabric and the style to ensure the product looks and feels the very best and I am hugely proud of the end result," he tells WWD. "I can't wait to show people the collection -- although I'm not sure my mum will be too happy seeing a billboard image of me in underwear again." Oh ... but the ladies will love it, Becks!
