David Archuleta won an ALMA Award at the event honoring Latino influence in entertainment, which aired on Friday, September 18th, on ABC.
David Archuleta, singer, American Idol runner up and teen heartthrob, won the ALMA Award for Male Music Rising Star. He also sang "Contigo en la Distancia", romantic ballad in Spanish that has been covered by many Latino stars, like Luis Miguel.
David Archuleta's upcoming album, Christmas From The Heart, will also include a song in Spanish, "Riu Riu Chiu". The album is currently available on pre-order and comes out on October 13th.

I only watched the ALMA awards to see David Archuleta, and I think his performance was PERFECT! everything about it was perfect!! David is amazingly talented! his voice is out of this world. I think he would sound AMAZING in every language, but I really hope he records an album in Spanish really soon!!! In the meantime, I already pre-ordered his Christmas album and I'm planning to buy more copies to give to my family and friends. I'm sure that album is going to be a wonderful work of art! I can't wait to listen to it. I can't stop watching the video of David performing CONTIGO EN LA DISTANCIA. He is simply the best!

David singing Spanish song leaves me speechless, breathless. Perfection is the only word I can think of to describe his ALMA performance.

Wow, wow, wow, David's performance at the Alma Awards was magical. He truly amazes me every time he sings. I cannot wait until his Christmas Album is released in October. Christmas from David's heart and voice, nothing better than that!
Unbelieveable. Wow... I had no idea he was Latino, much less able to sing in Spanish! I've got chills watching this.
I admire David's talent. He has a very unique voice. He deserves this award.
David is AWESOME!!!! He did such a fantastic job singing at the ALMA'S. The best of the entire show and I think those that have never seen or heard him were blown away. Stay tuned folks because he is going to be BIGGGGGGGG.We who have been fans all along know what a wonderful person he is and so sweet to his fans. If you ever get to see him live you will be just awestruck. FANTASTIC. There will be a Christmas tour coming up , no dates released yet but I sure hope he come close to Houston cause I'll be there with bells on.

David Archuleta's performance at the ALMA's was absolutely stunning! He has the most beautiful voice I have ever heard! Since he sang "Imagine" on AI I have been a fan of this beautiful young man and his music!
It was even better than I anticipated actually! I was impressed with his maturity and emotion during the entire performance. He should keep working his craft and keep getting better and better.
David's still a teenager and his voice will mature and get even stronger! Imagine the possibilities!

David was perfection singing at the Alma Awards. I hung onto every note he sang and didn't want the song to end. What a marvelous human being and singer he is. Can't wait for his Christmas Album to be released. I'll probably listen to it all year round! This performance was breathtaking.
