The Panthers are moving up to Division I in the CCLA in 2013 and their schedule looks to be quite challenging. If they are to repeat their appearance in the MCLA National Tournament Davenport will have to beat some quality opponents. DU is ranked #17 in the US Lacrosse Magazine’s Pre-Season rankings and new Head Coach Chris Gervat will have his boys ready.
The season gets underway on February 8 as DU travels to Mount Pleasant to tangle with the Chips. Two days later, the Panthers have their home opener against Toledo.
In early March, Davenport heads west to tangle with three Arizona teams – Arizona on March 14, Grand Canyon on March 16 and ASU on March 17. Arizona is coming off of a 9-8 season while the Sun Devils are a perennial power. They went 13-6 and lost in the National Semi-Finals.
The Panthers head home to play Buffalo on March 24. Grand Valley is the next opponent on March 27 at East Grand Rapids High School. That should be an epic contest.
Another highlight will be a roadie to Blacksburg, Virginia to play Virginia Tech and Clemson.
