A take on Dave Grohl's documentary "Sound City," the program will feature the Foo Fighters frontman touring recording studios across the world, conducting interviews with the likes of Kiss frontman Paul Stanley and Joe Walsh from the Eagles. The show will also chronicle the making of the Foo Fighters eighth studio album, just announced officially, due out this fall.

Some of the studios featured in the series: Nirvana/Page & Plant producer Steve Albini's Electrical Audio studio in Chicago, Don Zientara's Inner Ear studios in Washington DC and Rancho De La Luna studios in California among others.

Look for the as-yet untitled series to air on HBO sometime this winter.
