After teasing fans on Instagram with ominous pictures suggesting a new record, Dave Grohl has confirmed a new Foo Fighters album is on the way. The currently untitled eighth studio album will be released this fall via Roswell/RCA Records. The upcoming release will be the follow up to 2011's highly successful “Wasting Light.”

The news was revealed during a press release also announcing Dave Grohl's new HBO TV series. The new show will document Foo Fighters' recording sessions in eight different cities: Chicago, Austin, Nashville, Los Angeles, Seattle, New Orleans, Washington, DC, and New York.

They visited infamous studios in each city. The first episode will premiere on the even of the band's 20th anniversary. More details about both the show and new album will be announced later.

Dave Grohl, along with Krist Novoselic and Kurt Cobain were inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as Nirvana last month. REM's Michael Stipe inducted the band while Dave Grohl and Kurt Cobain's widow Courtney Love embraced, burying their long standing feud. For more on the Foo Fighters, visit their website.
