Dave Chappelle is coming to San Diego and the mercurial funny man will be at Spreckels theater downtown on October 18th-20th. Dave's highly anticipated stand-up performance is sure to grab the attention of San Diego residents as well as fans from all over that will flock to this event for a chance to see the comic legend. Since going into his self-imposed exile from Comedy Central in May of 2005, the comic has made infrequent appearances at the Laugh Factory mixed with a few unannounced performances at random stand-up joints around the U.S., not giving fans as much of the elusive comic as they would like with tickets increasingly hard to come by.
This past August 30th, Chappelle made headlines when hecklers angered the 40-year-old comedian forcing him to sit in silence for several minutes before going off script to the amusement of some fans and the dismay of others. Dave spent the remainder of his scheduled 25-minute set providing traces of his trademark irreverent humor which continued to earn jeers from the tireless hecklers effectively ending the comedian's night with as little remorse as could have been expected.
San Diego looks to be in for a treat because Dave appears to be of the same comedic brilliance he had prior to unexpectedly turning down 50 million dollars from Comedy Central. Even while teaching the heckling few a lesson which ultimately cost the entire crowd, Dave still flashed a glimpse of his ability showing that his humor and ability to play off of the crowd are exactly where they have always been, and exile or not, the ex Comedy Central funny man is still king. On October 18th-20th San Diego will host the comedian and thanks to his last viral soundbite will be more primed than ever to see what Dave's follow up performance to the incident in Connecticut last August will be.
