Could it be true? Could the once controversial, but quite possibly funniest comedian of this decade Dave Chappelle be teaming up with Chris Rock for a tour? Pleeeeease say it'll happen, and let it happen SOON!!!!!!!
On Tuesday (Feb 26) after the final schedule act at "the Cellar" (a comedy club in NYC) the host Williams Stephenson called to the crowd to remain seated and after apologizing for saying the show was over, he introduced Chappelle to the audience.
I wasn't there but I can only imagine how the crowd erupted in applause. For someone who has been somewhat of a recluse ever since his sudden trip to South Africa during production of the 3rd season of "Chappelle Show" a hugely popular sketch comedy show on Comedy Central that catapulted Chappelle to fame in 2003.
After about 45 minutes to an hour of his solo performance and just when Chappelle was about to walk off stage, in comes Chris Rock... YES... Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle on stage... TOGETHER!!!!! *GASP*
"Awwww, you lucky motherf*****s..." Chris said to the crowd as he walked onstage. The two went back and forth with each other in comedic banter for another 45 minutes to an hour, discussing schedules and times of availability to possibly do this tour that Chris Rock has been talking about for quite a while now.
The next night ( Wed, Feb. 27) not only was it Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle but Kevin Hart and Marlon Wayans joined them for an unrehearsed, completely off the dome comedy session.
What does a person have to do to get a heads up about the next comedy night like those... Sheesh!!
