After a four-year hiatus, Dave Batista successfully returned to the WWE by winning 2014 Royal Rumble on Sunday night. Batista would take part in the 30-man match at number 28 and eliminate several superstars before throwing Roman Reigns over the top rope to win the Rumble, nine years after his first win in 2005. The win allows the "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor to be a part of the main event storyline for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania XXX in New Orleans, which is currently being held by Randy Orton.

Batista spears Roman Reigns in the Air Jordan XX8

In a first for the superstar, Batista entered the ring in a pair of the "black/white/red" Air Jordan XX8. Batista's Air Jordan XX8 did not look out of place among the behemoths that ran around the ring in their wrestling boots. One of the more common comments about the shrouded Air Jordan XX8 was while they would look unusual on a basketball court, they would look appropriate in other situations such as professional wrestling.

A noted sneakerhead, Batista is known for having a large collection that spans decades and brands. Most recently he tweeted out a picture of his "Year of the Rabbit" Nike Air Force 1, a noted "grail" for some Air Force 1 collectors because of their rarity. The Air Jordan XX8 that Batista wore to the Rumble is now sold out as are most colorways of the XX8 as they have been phased out to make way for the Air Jordan XX8, a shroud-less version of the shoe.
