Daughters and Sons on Not So Underground Sounds podcast

The new Not So Underground Sounds podcast features Cincinnati's own Daughters and Sons with their song "Hell Today."

The funk-heavy band features Willy Morren on vocals and guitar. He also writes the majority of the tunes and has a passion for orchestration.

"Hell Today" delivers a slinky groove with perfect horn stabs and soaring guitar. This band needs an album out yesterday.

Also featured on the podcast is Granville natives The Black Owls with "Julius Morningstar." City Beat called the group "Talking Heads-meets-Kentucky Headhunters." Their bombastic sound takes the listener back to when rock was dangerous.

While this track comes from their debut, "Lightening Made Us Who We Are," their new album "June '71" should hit soon. Their new track "Glorious in Black" can be heard on the band's Facebook page.

The show is rounded out by new tracks from national acts Drive-By Truckers, Nada Surf and Steel Train.
