I have been recently asked if men should adhere to the 3-day rule.
The 3-day rule for those of you that aren't familar with it, was introduced to us compliments of Vince Vaughn in 'Swingers' and is the apparent appropriate length of time to wait before calling a 'beautiful baby'.

No I do not recommend adhering to this 3-day rule. I also don't think there is a set standard you should adhere to. I have had first dates that went so well the guy called me on his way home and I have had first dates that have went really well and they didn't call me for a few days.
I have also had really horrible dates the guy called me on the way home. I didn't answer of course. And it's interesting that when a horrible date calls you soon after the date it is 'too soon' and they are annoying whereas if a great date calls you soon after the date it is 'cute' and romantic.
Guys feel out the situation. If you had good vibes and feel like hearing her voice, call her sooner than later.

I agree that you should toss away the 3-day rule.
Guys, if you are interested in a woman and really like her, go ahead and call her the next day or email her when you get home.
She will be pleased to see that you are a real man and aren't playing games.
Even if you aren't the one for her, she might have a friend she could introduce you to.
Great article Sarah!

Okay, so men should ignore the 3 day rule but when do you think it's okay to get a little more intimant than kissing. Is there a set standard of how long you should wait before you are considered a sl*t???? Can you please give the guy perspective as well as the logical and reasonable female perspective...? Thanks, Sarah!!
Princess - whether or not you get more intimate than kissing is up to you on the date. You can tell what is appropriate for that moment; you can feel it. I have been in situations where we didn't kiss the first date and it was perfectly appropriate and I know there have been situations when people get intimate very soon into the relationship and that is what is right for that situation at that time. Nice comments, thanks for your support and for reading.
