Renew the romance in your relationship with the change in the season. Spring is full of promise, so breathe in the optimism by enjoying all that the season has to offer. If you are more than ready to shake off those winter blues, try on these date ideas for size:

Get your green on. The Missouri Botanical Garden located in Tower Grove has many promising events during the month of May. The weekend of May 17th brings Chinese Culture Days to the gardens. For $12 apiece, join the celebration of Chinese culture by sampling authentic cuisine and enjoying the spectacles from acrobatics to a parade featuring a 70-foot dancing dragon. At the end of May, a special exhibit called “Nature Connects: Art with LEGO Bricks” allows you and your date to be creative for the small price of $6 per an adult. Admire the LEGO art found around the Climatron inside the gardens, and after, build your own unique LEGO sculpture with your date. If you prefer a simpler experience, get your ticket online for a free visit on May 9th, which is known as National Public Gardens Day. This is the ideal place to get to know your date or reconnect with your love through conversation and appreciation of nature. Learn more at www.missouribotanicalgarden.org.

Get involved. Take part in your community or show love for a great cause by signing up and doing something with your partner. Giving back not only does good for the world but it also makes you feel good. Showing your partner that you care about others and seeing that same quality in your love will only foster positive feelings between you two. Get involved in the American Heart Association’s efforts to raise funds for medical research in the fight against heart disease by participating in this year’s Heart Walk. The event takes place on the morning of May 10th and it is free to sign up. Donate whatever amount you desire and show your support by tackling the 1- or 3-mile walk by Busch Stadium. Learn more and sign up here: www.heartwalk.kintera.org.

Get your game face on. The newest dining and entertainment district in town is all about the baseball fans. You’ll find it perfectly placed next to the St. Louis Cardinals home at Busch Stadium. Explore the lively bars, delicious dining options and numerous events that Ballpark Village has to offer. Be sure to take advantage of “Movie Mondays” where you and your date can lounge in front of a giant outdoor screen and catch fun films like “The Goonies” or “Back to the Future” for just a buck apiece. There’s always something happening at Ballpark Village. Find out what’s new at www.stlballparkvillage.com.
