The Houston Dash posted their second win and second shutout of the preseason with a 1-0 win at Houston Sports Park on Saturday morning, March 22, 2014.
The Lady Aggies applied pressure early but it was the Dash who put the ball in the back of the net. Houston rookie forward Kealia Ohai struck for the game’s only goal in the seventh minute of play. The second overall pick of the 2014 NWSL (National Women’s Soccer League) fired a low shot past Aggies keeper Renee McDermott for her first goal of the preseason and her second point in as many games. Tiffany McCarty assisted on the goal.
Ohai appeared to have her second goal of the match in the 17th minute but the play was whistled dead as McDermott lay motionless on the ground. The keeper had to be stretchered from the field but not before she waved to her 2013 SEC regular season champion teammates and fans.
Back-up keeper Jordan Day kept the Dash at bay despite numerous opportunities. Dash keepers Erin McLeod and Bianca Henninger combined for the win.
The Dash return to the pitch on Wednesday, March 26 at Houston Sports Park for a match against the Dynamo Academy U-16 team before heading to College Station for their final preseason tune-up against the Lady Aggies on April 2, 2014. The public is welcome and admission is free for both events.

Stepahnie Ochs leads the Dash attack as the Aggies Meghan Streight (4) and Leigh Edwards (13) are in hot pursuit.
