Darryl Jones, who has been the bass player for the Rolling Stones since 1993, is working on a second album with the Dead Daisies, an all-star rock band. In August 2013, the Dead Daisies' self-titled album was released in the U.S. and Canada on Caroline/Universal.

The lineup of the Dead Daisies consists of Jones; former INXS singer Jon Stevens; Guns N'Roses members Dizzy Reed (keyboardist) and Richard Fortus (guitarist); former Divinyls drummer Charley Drayton; and guitarist David Lowy.

Reed told Ultimate Classic Rock in an article published on Jan. 5, 2014: "We actually recorded three new songs in the middle of that last tour. When people hear it – there’s not a lot of bands doing this – I think they’re pleasantly surprised. You’re making people happy because you’re playing good rock’n’roll music. There’s not any other way to describe it. It’s just good rock’n’roll music.”

The Dead Daisies completed a tour of Israel and is doing a brief tour of Australia in February 2014. According to Ultimate Classic Rock, the Dead Daisies plans to record music for its second album, whose title and release date are to be announced.

Jones will be back in Australia in March 2014 as part of the Rolling Stones' "14 on Fire" tour of 2014, which so far has announced dates in Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

At this point, it is unknown when the next Rolling Stones' album will be released since there has been no announcement about a new album. The most recent Rolling Stones studio album of new material was 2005's "A Bigger Bang." The Rolling Stones released two new songs ("One More Shot" and the Grammy-nominated "Doom and Gloom") on the 2012 Rolling Stones greatest-hits compilation "GRRR!"
