Running back Darren McFadden of the Oakland Raiders has been listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers in Oakland.

It was reported on Friday that McFadden was placed in the doubtful list due to a strained hamstring the running back sustained in last Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins.

Additionally, it is highly speculated that Darren McFadden will most likely miss playing time until after the Oakland Raiders’ bye week, which is October 27.

"I think (sitting out is) going to help me out a whole lot," Darren said on Friday. "But at the same time we're just taking it day-to-day right now.”

McFadden continued by saying that he feels his hamstring feeling tight and sore when he walks around. He also added that he rather miss two or three games than pop his hamstring again and miss five or six games.

The good thing for the Raiders is that the backup Rashad Jennings is an experienced running back who has had success with the Jacksonville Jaguars in the past. A lot will be expected of Jennings on Sunday.

As McFadden, the running back has never had a full season with the Oakland Raiders in his five-year career. This incident is already hampering McFadden’s current year, which has not been explosive like years past.

If Rashad Jennings proves that he can handle the workload and showing promising consistency, McFadden could possibly be out by next year due to constant injuries.

In the end, a football team needs a starting running back that can stay healthy throughout the season. Hopefully for McFadden, the strained hamstring will be a minor incident and will not be a stigma on the Raiders’ running game.
