Running back Darren McFadden could be on his way out with the Oakland Raiders after the season is over. This is McFadden’s last year, with his contract, and was hoping on getting a mega contract after this season. Well guess what? It looks like that is not going to happen!
As reported by NFL.com on Wednesday morning, it would not be wise for the Raiders to re-sign McFadden with a huge expensive contract. McFadden simply does not put up numbers due to his recurring injuries.
McFadden has been injured in every season with the Raiders, never playing more than 13 games. For this season, forget about it! Plus, backup running back Rashad Jennings is playing better and for cheaper.
First it was a hamstring, now it has been reported on Thursday that Darren McFadden sustained an ankle injury against the Dallas Cowboys for Thanksgiving. Not good for McFadden! Yes, he missed practice so far this week due to his ankle injury.
McFadden has told the press, in the past, that he wants to be an Oakland Raiders for his whole career, but his injuries might hinder him from making that happen.
If McFadden does not take a pay cut and take the backup role next season, then he will most likely be let go. If he does go, good luck to him!
In the game of football, one must put up numbers to make things happen, and Darren McFadden has not done so with the Oakland Raiders.
