Today Oct. 18, 2013 Darksteel Mutation, one of the newest "Magic: The Gathering" cards from "Commander (2013 Edition)," was spoiled in an article by Trick Jarrett on DailyMTG.com. This uncommon white enchantment renders one of your opponent's threats utterly useless for just two mana.
Darksteel Mutation - 1W
Enchantment - Aura (Uncommon)
Enchanted creature is a 0/1 Insect artifact creature with indestructible and loses all other abilities.
Darksteel Mutation shines in commander where it transforms one of your rivals commander's into an indestructible 0/1 Insect with no other abilities. It's the perfect off switch to Roon of the Hidden Realm, Shattergang Brothers, or any other troublesome commander that one of your adversaries may have on the battlefield.
The best part about Darksteel Mutation is that they won't be able to simply cast their commander again or even draw it as they would if you'd cast Unexpectedly Absent on it. Your foe will need to cross their fingers, knock on wood, and hope they get some sort of enchantment removal card from the top of their deck in order for them to deal with Darksteel Mutation.
Did we mention that Darksteel Mutation only costs two mana to cast? There's absolutely no doubt this card will see heavy play in commander decks for years to come, perhaps even yours.
How will you use Darksteel Mutation?
