Darksiders sales eclipse half a million

Darksiders, developed by Austin studio Vigil Games, has reached the 500,000 sales mark in its first two weeks on market according to vgchartz.com, a website which tracks sales for video games and hardware.

The THQ owned studio should be overjoyed with the success and positive reviews for their first collaborative venture into console gaming. Available on both the PS3 and Xbox 360 Darksiders pits the player as War, a horseman of the apocalypse, who has been framed for destroying earth. The action-adventure title has drawn comparison to titles such as God of War and Zelda placing Darksiders in good company.

While unconfirmed for production, creative director Joe Madureira has stated that a follow up sequel is being discussed along with plans to take Darksiders to Hollywood.

Darksiders released January 5, 2010 and is rated 'Mature' by ESRB. It can be purchased at all major video game retailers.
