What remains of THQ announced Tuesday that it plans to auction off the remaining intellectual properties owned by the bankrupt publisher. This includes languishing franchises such as "Darksiders", "Red Faction", "Home World" and more.
The remaining franchises still held by THQ are being divided up into six lots of single franchises with multiple titles or multiple owned or licensed software. Bidding for the lots begins on April 1, 2013 and is expected to be completed by mid-May. Gamers will then find out which of the games they had hoped for more of will continue on. THQ says it has received "more than 100 expressions of interest" in the available IP.
THQ sold off "Company of Heroes", "Homefront 2", "Metro: Last Light", "South Park: The Stick of Truth" and other next-gen titles such as "Evolve" from Turtle Rock Studios in a bankruptcy auction that took place in January.
"Darksiders II" and other titles either did not receive bids or were not included in the initial auction. Vigil Studios, the developer for the "Darksiders" franchise was dissolved with work on "Darksiders III" and a next-gen project code-named "Crawler" left incomplete.
