The presentation of the vanguard and pacesetter awards along with the speeches from the recipients was also enlightening. The Beauty of giving back Darker Horse Creative held their 5th annual BEAUTY BASH; the founders of Darker Horse Creative, Fred Miller and Triphena Johnson hosted this event. Our philosophy is that even greater than those committed to creating physical beauty are those committed to the beauty of giving. The premise of this gathering was to giving back to the industry, beauty professionals, the community and the like.

The Camaraderie of Industry Professionals While attending this event and hearing the hosts Fred Miller and Triphena Johnson speak about the beauty industry, it showed their true love and devotion to the beauty industry along with expressing gratitude for goodwill and lighthearted rapport among friends. As the Chicago Makeup Examiner, having been in the beauty industry for over 30+ years...I was proud to be in the presence of so many trailblazers in the industry. Some of my notable distinguished comrades in attendance were: Dr. Reginald Mitchell, Mr. Sam Fine, Oscar James, Jacqueline Tarrant, Ernest Collins and Viola Nicholson, just to name a few.
