'Dark Universe' film will include Deadman, Swamp Thing and The Spectre

With an unspecified writer aboard, the latest Guillermo del Toro DC comic film, “Dark Universe” is off and running.

Guillermo del Toro has wanted an unspecified writer for the project for some time now and has finally procured the plan.

In an interview with IGN, del Toro states he has begun working on the outline for the project and is in the middle of coordinating the script and project plans.

“Man of Steel” has hastened the production of “Justice League” and “Dark Universe,” del Toro stated.

The movement for this happened before “Avengers” even. They were already galvanized to launch “Justice League” and make their universe cohesive. What I feel now is they’re really, with “Superman” very confident. They have two pillars – Batman and Superman. They have a darker tone. An urban and sophisticated tone.

Guillermo del Toro recently turned down the offer to be involved with “Star Wars Episode VII” and is currently working at renewed attempts to release “At The Mountains of Madness.” His latest endeavor is “Mama,” a supernatural film that is to be released on February 22 in the UK. His “Pacific Rim” production is to be in theaters this summer.

With all of these projects in the works, the busy del Toro still spoke of childhood superheroes from the DC comics that included Swamp Thing, The Demon and Deadman, The Spectre, Zatanna and Zatara and John Constantine. It seems we can expect Swamp Thing, The Demon and Deadman in the new release, if not the whole gang.
