Great news for Washington area Deadheads, Dark Star Orchestra will play two shows at the famous 9:30 club in Washington. Dark Star Orchestra has been know to recreate shows from the Grateful Dead or create a unique show from the Dead's long list of songs. Along the way they have built a strong fan base of their own and have built their own niche in the jam band genre.
Grateful Dead alumni such as Bob Weir, Donna Jean Godchaux-MacKay, Vince Welnick, Tom Constanten and Bill Kreutzmann. They have also been joined by Phish members Mike Gordon and Jon Fishman. Guitar master Warren Haynes and bluegrass legend Peter Rowan have also joined Dark Star Orchestra on stage.
Besides having a who's who list of musicians joining in with the band on occasion Dark Star Orchestra has played some of the coolest music festivals. The list of festivals includes their own Dark Star Jubilee, The Gathering of the Vibes, Bonnaroo, Mountain Jam, and the All Good Festival just to highlight a few.You can learn more about this band at their website.
