Dark Souls, one of the few modern games that maintains and captures the brutality and difficulty games of yesteryear, has garnered up a massive fan base since its release in 2011.
With this popularity, an obvious, heavily anticipated sequel has been in the works. Today, we finally get a release date for both the console and PC variant's of Dark Souls II: March 14th, 2014 for the Xbox 360 and PS3 version and April 25, 2014 for PC.
This news was released initially on the Dark Souls European FaceBook page and than was confirmed on the North American site. The PC version includes the standard affair benefits of the platform:
Adventurers will be delighted to discover that the PC & STEAM® version will fully benefit from PC capabilities: increased texture resolution and an enhanced frame rate option. On top of that, FromSoftware have been working to perfectly adapt the game for a mouse & keyboard combo... if pre-ordered on STEAM® fans will get bonuses - digital soundtrack and the early access to the Black Armour Weapon Set, the Official Dark Souls™ II Artbook in PDF format and The complete Dark Souls™ II Digital Comic Book (written by Rob Williams and Andi Ewington with art provided by Simon Coleby) as digital extras for a complete immersion in the universe of DARK SOULS™ II.
As for console players, they will have a host of features to compliment their purchase:
