Takeshi Miyazoe ended up laughing when asked if “Dark Souls 2” would be brought over to Nintendo’s high-definition system. His company believed that the audience for the platform is a lot different than what the video game is catering too. You can find some screenshots from the sequel in the slideshow to the left of this article and his statement below (courtesy of Edge Online and Gamerant):

Wii U never came up, and we never doubted that (decision) either. It was more of a company decision, so I wasn’t the one that decided this, but I think the audience for the Wii U is a lot different from the audience for Dark Souls.

In regards to the Playstation Vita, the producer stated that “Dark Souls 2” is not a handheld game. He went on to suggest that the network functionality of the portable system may be too limited. You can find his comment below:

It’s not a handheld game, because of the network functionality.

Takeshi Miyazoe and the rest of the staff at Namco Bandai Games will be publishing “Dark Souls 2” when it launches in March of 2014 for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. In addition to the Nintendo Wii U and Playstation Vita, the open-world action role-playing game is also not slated to come out for the PS4 and Xbox One next-generation systems.
