Several concerning factors were revealed regarding the upcoming “Dark Souls 2,” which will be coming out for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. According to a preview article by VG247 on Oct. 16, the multiplayer beta of the action role-playing title provided a glimpse at the health system.
“Dark Souls 2” will punish players that are dying over and over again by reducing the maximum amount of health. As a result, you could end up with just half of your health bar unless you used an item called Human Effigy.
Even with the change to the health system, the play tester revealed that the gameplay is actually easier when compared to the previous installments. This is because of the addition of the Life Gem, an item that will refill your health gradually. Unlike the Etsus Flasks, players can use Life Gems to heal while maneuvering around.
In the multiplayer beta, enemies frequently dropped the useful healing items upon defeat. The game becomes much more manageable with the abundance of Life Gems.
From Software could change the drop rate for the new healing item by the time the final version of “Dark Souls 2” is released. The sequel will be released first for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on March, 11, 2014. It is also launching for the PC sometime later in the same month.
