The Brotherhood of Blood covenant work in a similar manner to Darkwraiths from the first “Dark Souls” video game as it is tailored towards players who like to invade other people’s games. Instead of harvesting humanity, the members of the Brotherhood of Blood are tasked with accumulating blood.

On the other end of the scale, the Way of Blue covenant is focused on cooperative play. Members of the group can easily summon help and join each other’s session, especially during an invasion. Way of Blue is also linked to the Blue Sentinels covenant.

Namco Bandai Games confirmed five groups so far for “Dark Souls 2.” The sequel features Bell Keepers and Heirs to the Sun along with the aforesaid Blue Sentinels, Brotherhood of Blood and Way of Blue covenants. Theses associations are designed for the online multiplayer modes of the open-world action role-playing game.

The sequel will be published by Namco Bandai Games when it launches for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms in the month of March. A set of screens showcasing the online elements can be found in the slideshow to the left of this article.
