The first details have been revealed regarding the 1.02 patch for the recently-released multiplatform video game, “Dark Souls 2.” According to a report from Gameranx on March 17, the new title update is now available in the Japanese region for the PS3. From Software has not yet revealed when the same patch will be released for the Xbox 360 and in western countries.
The title update apparently fixes one of the online elements in the open-world action role-playing game. Players were getting error messages when trying to summon others while connected to the internet. The “Souls” series feature a somewhat unique cooperative system in which you can bring other users into your world to help you for a limited amount of time by activating signs placed on the ground.
For “Dark Souls 2,” From Software decided to use dedicated server support in order to improve over the peer-to-peer connections from the previous installment. However, it appears that the sequel is suffering from launch issues when it comes to online multiplayer.
“Dark Souls 2” came out for the aforesaid PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles on March 11. The multiplayer problems should, hopefully, be resolved by the time the PC version of the same title is released on April 25.
