It’s been sometime since we got much news about the much anticipated Frankenstein’s Army from director Richard Raaphorst. Thanks to Dark Sky and the upcoming premiere at the Rotterdam International Festival they have graced us with a treat of two new stills from the film.
The film takes place toward the end of World War II, as Russian soldiers push into eastern Germany and stumble across a secret Nazi lab, one that has unearthed and begun experimenting with the journal of one Dr. Viktor Frankenstein. The scientists have used the legendary Frankenstein's work to assemble an army of super-soldiers stitched together from the body parts of their fallen comrades - a desperate Hitler's last ghastly ploy to escape defeat.
The film stars Karel Roden (Hellboy), Alexander Mercury (The Golden Compass), Joshua Sasse (The Big I Am), Luke Newberry (The Heart of Me), Andrei Zayats (X-Men: First Class), Mark Stevenson (The Last Horror Movie), Hon Ping Tang (The Fifth Element), Cristina Catalina (Eastern Promises), Robert Gwylim (Escape from Sobibor), and Jan De Lukovicz.
These new stills feature a Machete Zombot in the corpse cooler and Viktor in his laboratory. Could this be another one of those films taking an iconic story to create something new, original and fun? It shows all the signs of delivering everything you could possibly want in this film and add the Nazi aspect and there is no doubt this will be one that must be seen.
While we don’t have a full on release date yet, you can check out these two new stills right here right now.
