In November of last year, the internet was abuzz with video recordings of strange flying objects in the skies over Denver, Colorado. The captured images showed dark shapes moving too fast to be clearly seen with the naked eye, which some believed were either insects or birds. Others were unable to explain exactly what the strange objects over the mile high city were. This account is only one of many in a growing trend of unexplainable flying objects in the skies over cities around the world, including many that have found their way into mainstream media reports. More and more people are realizing there is something going on, and those who witness such things are not longer considered nutjobs, as they once were. Regardless of what one might believe these objects to be, there is no denying that they possess properties that transcend the physical world, able to appear and vanish at will, and move contrary to the laws of nature. The UFO phenomenon has advanced to a disturbing new level in recent years, with more people seeing unidentified flying objects than ever before. Interest in extraterrestrials and the paranormal has grown exponentially, as evidenced by the endless movies and television shows devoted to the subject. But what does this phenomenon tell us about ourselves and our modern society? What dangers does it pose to our lives, mentally and spiritually?
There is more going on in the skies over us than we might think, things that would frighten many people if the curtain were rolled back, and they were to get a glimpse. Our natural eyes, closed to the spiritual realm, only see what can be perceived physically. Were we able to see beyond that, we would see the intense spiritual warfare occurring over us. It’s truly a case of what you don’t know can hurt you. The Bible describes our world as having not only a natural realm, but also one that is supernatural, or spiritual. The spiritual forces in the unseen dimension around us are in constant opposition with one another, and we often see the results of this reflected naturally and sociologically. The atmosphere surrounding the earth is what’s referred to as the second heaven, as opposed to the third heaven, where God is. In chapter 6 of the Biblical book of Ephesians, we’re given an insight into the territory of the spiritual war. Verse 12 tells us that the struggle for those who follow Jesus Christ is against evil, spiritual forces in the heavenly places, referring to the sky.
The Old Testament book of Daniel sheds a fascinating light into the nature of the warfare that occurs in the skies over the cities of the world, and the territorial spiritual beings who rule over certain geographical areas. Daniel, in chapter 10, saw a vision of an angelic figure who gave him a divine message. The figure, appearing in human form as a man, told him that he would have arrived sooner “But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia” (Daniel 10:13). The King of Persia described in this verse refers to a powerful, malevolent spiritual being who warred against the archangel Michael. It’s clear from this description that there are spiritual entities that control and influence specific areas and regions around the world. This helps to explain why certain cities and geographic regions have distinct strongholds of spiritual oppression and sin, expressing itself through specific criminal activity, such as racism and greater violence. Many cities have experienced such things for decades, and are in many ways reflected by the distinct social and religious mindsets of the people living there.
The most powerful fallen angels reside in the aeriel regions, the second heaven, unlike the lower demonic beings, or disembodied spirits, that are more horizontally bound. Satan is referred to in Ephesians 2:2 as ‘The prince of the power of the air.’ He controls a vast array of malevolent forces under his command, spiritual beings that have the ability to transform themselves into familiar objects, just as we’re told Satan himself does as ‘an angel of light’ (2 Corinthians 11:13). Having stealth on their side, fallen angels cloak themselves in order to conceal their true identities, and man is deceived into thinking that UFO’s are of extraterrestrial origin. This is all by intended design, knowing how easily lead astray the human race has always been. It’s difficult to know just how long these dark forces have been over the cities of the world, but we do know that angelic beings, divine and fallen, have been at war since mankind was created. Human civilizations, past and present, have been guided and influenced by Luciferian forces for thousands of years, and now things are accelerating towards a historic climax.
It’s been said that the greatest trick the devil ever played was convincing the world that he doesn’t exist, and that couldn’t be more true than with the UFO phenomenon. The last thing people attribute to flying objects is Satan, that is, the small minority who even believe that he actually exists. Instead of people recognizing the objects for what they are, many are convinced that extraterrestrials are behind it, despite the thousands of accounts of abduction stories from unsuspecting people who recount experiencing terrifying encounters with nonhuman entities. Many of these people suffer for many years afterwards, dealing with everything from vivid nightmares and depression, to post-traumatic stress syndrome. Does it make sense that aliens from another world would travel millions, or even billions, of light years just to remain enigmatic, and to proclaim new age teachings? The messages that these beings are preaching are ones that blatantly deny the holy scriptures, and the divinity of Jesus Christ as the Son of God, proclaiming that they are the ones who sent Him, and that He was one of them. The malevolent, fallen entities are claiming to essentially be God. Jesus told His followers to watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming ‘I am he’, and, ‘the time is near.’ Do not follow them (Luke 21:8). These beings are not going to go away. It’s time for God’s people to wake up, and realize the true forces behind these manifestations. We must make every effort to not be deceived by these lying spirits, and to share this truth with others.
