Needing an assistant for Lang, Barnabas persuades a reluctant Julia to release the unhinged Willie Loomis from Windcliff. Returned to Collinwood, he quickly terrifies Maggie and makes an enemy of Joe.

Julia argues successfully that Willie is not stable enough to assist Lang. Lang becomes the unwitting recipient of the dream while trying to gain Jeff's assistance, which sees him confronted by his unfinished creation.

Barnabas is introduced to Lang's lifeless creation. Lang passes the dream on to Julia. As the experiment begins, Cassandra makes a renewed attack, leaving Lang close to death.
