Enchantment - Rare
Whenever a creature you control dies, you draw a card and lose 1 life.
When the bog ran short on small animals, Ekri turned to the surrounding farmlands.
Dark Prophecy isn't as easy to add to multicolored decks as Underworld Connections, however it won't eat up one of your lands and there's a possibility that you'll be able to draw multiple cards a turn off it. Consider the control match-up: That Supreme Verdict your opponent plays could actually help you win the game (pray they aren't running Terminus).
The key to abusing Dark Prophecy is packing your deck full of creatures and letting them die. If there's a creature in particular which wants a Dark Prophecy on the battlefield, it's Shadowborn Apostle. Another creature that pairs well with Dark Prophecy is Gravecrawler, and this enchantment can add an overwhelming amount of card advantage to zombie decks. Decks which run sacrifice outlets like Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord can also benefit from Dark Prophecy.
Despite its intensive black-mana casting cost, one deck which might benefit from Dark Prophecy is The Aristocrats. Another idea might be to utilize it in a white-black extort deck.
How will you use Dark Prophecy?
