James Holmes, the accused shooter of a July 20, 2012 killing spree that took the lives of 12 and wounded an additional 58 people has reportedly converted to Islam, as reported on March 20, 2013 by both the Daily Mail (of London, England) and the U.S. based on-line news portal Gather.com.
Citing an unnamed source from inside the Arapaho County Jail in Colorado, both news organs report that Holmes has embraced the Islamic belief wholeheartedly, praying towards Mecca five times a day, eating only Islamic-approved halal meals, spending hours per day reading the koran and is growing his beard as long as possible in keeping with strict Sharia'a law.

Beyond the externals, the Aurora killer is reportedly also convinced that he is now officially a jihadist warrior who "believes he was carrying out of the work of Allah by taking the lives of infidels."
If convicted of murder, Holmes faces either life in prison or the death penalty.
