Dark Clouds

Everyone is aware of the familiar phrases: I got up on the wrong side of the bed, or nothing is going right, often for different reasons. Our emotional responses to annoying events which can occur in day to day life, can create an inner feeling of turmoil, anger, frustration and a sense of unrest. For many, the dark cloud of a day going 'wrong' can spill over into work and personal activities. This increased stress for many can exist throughout an entire day or even continue for following days.

The pattern may feel unbreakable, but it is possible to alter one's mindset and with a shift of behaviour, inner thoughts, a new day can emerge. For those 'awful' days or moments, if there can be different positive action, then instantly, 'awful' just doesn't have control, you do.

Try having a silent list. Think of a favourite song, take five deep breaths, have a poem memorized which has an inspiring meaning, imagine your favourite place in the world. If it's possible for 30 seconds to pass with a different focus, then the day can turn out to be very different and in a good way.

You can't have a good day with a bad attitude, and you can't have a bad day with a good attitude. Unknown
