Rucker gained fame in the 1990’s with his band Hootie and the Blowfish, then switched his career writing and performing country songs with his last three albums, ‘Learn To Live’, ‘Charleston, SC 1966’, and ‘True Believers’. On ‘True Believers’, Sheryl Crow lends a hand with ‘Love Without You’, and Rucker performs with Lady Antebellum on ‘Wagon Wheel’, a Bob Dylan penned song made popular by the band Old Crow Medicine Show.

Rucker has been active in support of various fundraisers for helping those in need. This past April 2014, Rucker participated in the Academy of Country Music’s Lifting Lives celebrity golf classic in Las Vegas NV. The event brings together country music artists and record labels, as well as many music industry companies and individuals to raise dollars for charitable causes through this star-studded scramble tournament. Money raised from the event benefits the ACM Lifting Lives Diane Holcomb Emergency Relief Fund, which provides immediate relief to those in need in the music industry.

In preparing his latest album ‘True Believers’, Rucker explains his approach to his craft. "I just started with a list of guys I wanted to write with," says Rucker. "The process doesn't really change - you go off in a corner and write - but I really wanted to try not to write 'Alright' again. And I'm very happy with what we got. I love the song choices, the sound is brighter, and even though I'm not big on listening to myself, I'm really proud of the vocals on this record."

Look for Joel Crouse to join Rucker onstage to perform the classic ‘Family Tradition’ at the Blue Hills Pavilion this September. Get your tickets here:
