The first of the 2014 monthly constituent hours at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center (15801 Michigan Ave.) will be held by state Rep. George T. Darany (D-15th District) tomorrow morning.

Darany will again be holding at the Dearborn Senior Center his 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday informal gatherings with the residents of Dearborn. Beginning with this Jan. 31 gathering, future constituent hours will be held Feb. and March 28, April 25, May 16, June 27, July 25, August 22, Sept. 26 and Oct. 24. A common area containing tables and televisions is where the state rep meets, said legislative aide Lori Dey.

“Usually it's him sitting at the table, as people come and go,” Dey said. “The constituent hours have been very informative, and discussion does take place.”

Darany expressed appreciation for being able to reach out to the community and listen to its thoughts and concerns, “and I look forward to continued communication throughout 2014.” This year, Dey said, anyone who cannot make this year's Friday constituent hours will be encouraged to set up individual appointments to give their concerns. In addition to these monthly gatherings, Dey is sure a town meeting will be set up in the near future, “probably some kind of veteran's event.”

These times and dates are subject to change. Residents wishing further information on the constituent hours (or wanting to schedule individual appointments, or having questions or concerns about state government) can contact Darany's office toll-free at (855) 775-1515, or email GeorgeTDarany@house.mi.gov.
