Principal photography has begun in Palm Springs, Calif. for the highly anticipated film, “The Night Crew,” according to a Jan. 17 press release email. The film is being distributed through Premiere Entertainment Group, and stars Luke Goss; Danny Trejo; Bokeem Woodbine; Jason Mewes; and Chasty Ballesteros.
Ryan Noto, the film’s producer, had this to say:
“We are excited to be shooting ‘The Night Crew’ in the wild palm spring desert, where we’ve been welcomed with open arms despite our blazing pyrotechnics, machine gun fire and sinister characters running amok with gas masks and machetes. Not since the days of the Rat Pack have the locals of this desert community seen so many beautiful actresses roaming the town after the martini shot each day.”
Noto added: “Our dedicated actors and crew are working feverishly to finish this intense and action packed shoot. By virtue of owning my Post house Digital Post Services (DPS), we have on set technology that allows us to simultaneously create a teaser of this highly-anticipated film that will be available for screening in Berlin at Premiere Entertainment’s suite.”
The film is directed by Christian Sesma and follows a group of financially struggling bounty hunters who must survive the night against some cartel killers. They discover that the person they seek, a mysterious Chinese woman, is more than what she lets on.
Eric Potter (“The Lincoln Lawyer”) edited the film, while Anthony J. Rickert-Epstein (“We the Party”) served as director of photography, and Jennifer Cooper (“Scenic Route”) was in charge of casting.
The film is scheduled for release sometime in 2014.
