Danny Petterson is having an important auction this weekend

Daniel Petterson is having a rare antique auction Saturday, December 8, 2012, that has many antiques with a local, Lowcountry connection. These auctions are few and far in between.

It will be held at 1878 Ashley Hall Rd., Charleston, SC, 29407, in the West Ashley area. The preview starts at 9am and the auction starts at 10am. Many of the antiques can be seen on his auction website, www.pettersonauction.com, but not everything.

It is the estate of Charles Hayne Hunter. There is a plantation desk, furniture, bottles, a Victorian bed, an ambrotype like photo in a nice case, all kinds of ceramics including southern pottery jugs, ceramic molds for kitchen usage, etc. Most importantly, there is artwork by Verner.

Most of his antique auctions are well attended. It is important to remember that there is no “Buyer’s Premium”, so that saves a buyer about 20%. Also, his auctions are conducted in a buyer-friendly manor, not like the loud, fast cattle caller auctioneers. There may be many bargains for devoted antique shoppers of the Lowcountry.
