Just 5 months ago, we learned the unfortunate news that Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman were calling it quits after over 30 years of marriage. However, it has recently been reported that the couple have reconciled. If that wasn’t good enough news for their loyal fans, the couple is taking it a step further as they are considering renewing their wedding vows according to a RadarOnline report dated Tuesday, March 19.
DeVito and Perlman are now back to being like “love-struck teenagers,” a source close to the couple shared.
The parents of three have been one of Hollywood’s longest lasting marriages, and it looks as though they are wanting to keep it that way.
Radar continues, “And Danny, 68, has asked Rhea, 64, if she would be interested in walking down the aisle for a second time to cement their union.”
An insider tells Radar, “Danny thinks it would be the ultimate in romantic gestures to renew his wedding vows with Rhea.”
“He suggested it to Rhea, who wasn’t against the idea, and told her it’s something they should definitely consider,” added the source.
“Rhea’s not one to make a fuss, so she may say there’s no need, but she does like the idea of being romanced by Danny all over again and is happy with the effort he’s putting in to repair their marriage,” continued the source.
If the second “I Do” ceremony does happen, the insider shared that it wouldn’t be a
“glitzy affair and would likely just be Danny and Rhea, as well as their three kids, Lucy, Daniel and Grace, who would attend the ceremony.”
The couple who shares the same sense of humor has always been a best friend to one another. DeVito reportedly realized he just couldn’t live without his soul mate, and subsequently has been romancing her and making her feel as special as he can for the last 5 months. Work had gotten in the way, but DeVito is now putting a great focus on Perlman. Apparently Perlman’s response to DeVito’s efforts has been a very positive one.
RadarOnline continues, “He pampered her with spa treatments, took her out for expensive dinners, and made sure she felt special again.”
The couple met on January 17, 1971 when Perlman went to see a friend in the single performance of the play ‘The Shrinking Bride,’ which DeVito was also featured in. After 11 years together, they wed on January 28, 1982. Sharing common interests, DeVito and Perlman have acted together on several occasions.
While they reside in Beverly Hills, California, they also spend time at their vacation home in Interlake, New Jersey.
