The ill fated girl group Danity Kane is now officially no more. According to a Friday story by TMZ, two of the group’s three remaining members have left the girl band, leaving an in depth statement on their Facebook page and official website.
On Monday, a fight broke out between Aubrey O’Day and Dawn Richard during a business meeting. Shannon Bex, another member of the girl group, witnessed Dawn punching Aubrey in the back of the head. There was reportedly no warning before the attack on the singer. The police were called to the scene, and the two girls had a police report made.
During a recent group meeting, a business conversation took a turn for the worst when my group member punched me in the back of my head while I was speaking to another associate. To be clear, she was not physically engaged or threatened prior to her attack on me. This is the same information I provided to the police, and witnesses also corroborated this account of the incident,” Aubrey wrote on the groups website.
I did not witness a shouting match, a cat fight or a brawl. I witnessed a single direct punch,” Shannon also wrote.
Then, the announcement was made by Aubrey and Shannon that they would no longer be associated with Danity Kane, not because they didn’t want to be in the group, but because the violence that had occurred was just too much for them to put up with. They both wrote their own statement describing their account of the incident, and what led them to make this difficult decision.
We know it must be devastating for our fans to have spent the last twelve months supporting our every move, and for that we cannot apologize enough. We share your frustration and anger! We spent a year living on each other’s couches, sacrificing any solo opportunity that came our way, finally finished our comeback album, and were days away from filming three music videos for you that would have played out as a short movie,” Shannon and Aubrey wrote together.
According to a source found by US Magazine, the girls fought amongst each other the entire twelve months the group was working on their newest album.
Another source tells TMZ, that Dawn was furious about Aubrey and Shannon recording tracks and talking with the record label with involving her. Reportedly, this revelation is what led to the assault of Aubrey O’Day.
[The stories are] exaggerated lies and false accusations," Dawn said to TMZ.
Danity Kane only reunited a year ago, after many years of forming a group and members quickly falling out with each other. Unfortunately for Danity Kane fans, it seems that the group is doomed to not succeed, despite an immense amount of talent involved.
