Danielle Staub talks to Dr. Drew: 'My demons are staring me in the face'

Danielle Staub spoke to Dr. Drew Pinsky on his CNN show last night regarding the sexual abuse she endured as a child.  She says that now that her demons are staring her in the face, she has no choice but to address them.

“I really felt like I needed to do this” she told Dr. Drew. “Like again, I am going to say it’s for me, and it’s for my children and my demons are staring me in the face now and I have no choice than to address them, but I’m also a mom and I have to take responsibility for being a better person even though I’m 48, it’s not too late.”

Dr. Drew agreed, saying it’s absolutely not too late.

“I don’t want to repeat any of this and I want love in my life. I’m not able to have love if I keep pushing it away.”

Dr. Pinsky told Staub that it’s hard to have a relationship with anybody when you expect abuse. It’s impossible.

“A lot of people can relate to this in varying degrees” says Dr. Drew. He went on to say that he sees the broken intimacy in our world as the problem in our country.

Earlier in the week, Staub revealed that she has issues with low self-esteem and love addiction and that she was "coaxed" into signing with Scores by past handlers.

"My low self-esteem derived from childhood sexual abuse has messed with my mind and self-worth, and over the years I thought about getting help but pushed it deep into the depths of denial," she says. "For years I have had the suicide hotline on my cell phone and would like nothing more than to free myself from this constant pressure."
