According to the Canada Summer Games website, Stefan Daniel of Calgary won a silver medal on Tuesday in the men's 100m butterfly swimming competition for athletes with a disability at the Canada Summer Games in Sherbrooke.
Daniel, who was born with a club arm according to Reagen Sulewski of the Cochrane Times, posted a time of 1:14.58 in Tuesday's final, which was good enough for second place. Alec Elliott of Kitchener, Ontario won the race with a time of 59.34 seconds and Zach Zona of Waterford, Ontario won the bronze medal with a time of 1:17.74.
Meanwhile, Tuesday was another strong day for Calgary swimmer Jonathan Brown. The Calgary native won the bronze medal in the men's 400m freestyle swimming competition and won a silver medal in the men's 4x100m freestyle with Yuri Kisil and Anthony Lyons of Calgary and Marshal Parker of Red Deer.
Team Alberta has 25 medals at the Canada Summer Games in Sherbrooke to date with all medals coming in swimming. Alberta is in third place in the medal standings behind Ontario and Quebec.
