Daniel Radcliffe discusses Harry Potter life without Albus Dumbledore

Fans of the Harry Potter books know exactly what is to come in the final film installment due out this summer even though thy're not sure how it will come about on the big screen. The books were a pathway for the films and those that read them knew of what the future held for the feature adaptations.

Knowing the "future" doesn't make it any easier though.

On July 15th, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 will hit theatres to bring the franchise to a close and pave many sad days ahead for fans. Still, there have already been numerous sad moments incuding one that happened in the sixth film titled Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Star Daniel Radcliffe wasn't necessarily fond of soem of the happenings that occurred during that film.

Total Film sat down recnetly with Radcliffe to talk about how life has been on set and at Hogwarts without the presence of Headmaster Albus Dumbledore (Michael Gambon). Radcliffe admitted that he missed the actor and the character.

“Yes – those scenes with the two of us [in The Half-Blood Prince] were the most fun scenes.

“We shot them all in a period of about two months right at the beginning of the film. We were working together almost every day and it was great.

“But it was tough because there’s so much information to get across, and those scenes go on for the whole book. We had it all condensed into two scenes, pretty much.

“But The Half-Blood Prince wasn’t my favourite installment overall…”

Why is that? “I just hated my performance,” Radcliffe told us.

“The film was good, but it’s a huge amount of exposition. I think it’s the most beautiful of all the chapters… but [it’s] basically about setting up number seven.

"I just wasn't very happy with number six in terms of my own performance."

The full interview with the boy wizard can be read in the new issue of Total Film Magazine which hits newstands on Thursday.
