Oklahoma City police officer Daniel Holtzlcaw has been charged with sexual assault on eight women. On Saturday, Huffington Post shared he was charged on Friday with 16 counts including first-degree rape and sexual battery. These accusations were made by eight women and the crimes were all allegedly done while on duty as an OKC police officer. Holtzclaw had been with the Oklahoma City police department for three years. He has been on administrative leave since June 18.
At this time, Daniel is still in jail on a $5 million bond. His lawyer wouldn't give a statement to Huffington Post besides that he "denies he ever did anything inappropriate with anyone." Daniel has not admitted to any of the charges at this time. On Saturday, his lawyer Scott Adams shared a statement with the family and Examiner.
He said, "As everyone is aware by now, a 16 count Information has been filed against Daniel. He has been informed of the charges and vehemently denies each and every one. Daniel asks that everyone remain strong during this difficult time. We ask for your continued support, thoughts, and prayers. Scott Adams attorney for family."
Daniel Holtzclaw is still in jail at this time. He has not admitted to doing anything wrong at this time and is denying all charges. His attorney has been working hard to get his bond reduced, but at this time has been unable to do so. Scott Adams said, "I can say Daniel denies that he ever did anything inappropriate at all, ever. We’re just trying to get to the bottom of it right now. We intend to vigorously defend him."
His family is doing everything that they can to help out Daniel. They have started a fundraising page at Go Fund Me. At this time, over $7,000 has been raised to help the family with this battle. They have also set up a Facebook page with over 400 likes that is called Justice for Daniel Holtzclaw. This page keeps everyone updated on how the case is going and anything new that is released.
