Daniel Henney seen at 'Shanghai Calling' Premiere in Hollywood

It was all about Shangai at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres in Hollywood as Daniel Henney was seen with his co-stars for their film "Shanghai Calling."

Henney stars in this romantic comedy as a New York attorney Sam, who immigrates to China for his job since he's half Chinese. However, Sam actually is more a foreigner in Shangai. As he stumbles in assimilating into the life in China, his transition is eased up with a relocation specialist (Eliza Coupe), foreign businessman (Bill Paxton) and an assistant (Zhu Zhu).

While on the red carpet, Daniel Henney explained to Front Row Features Wire / Pacific Rim Video's Chris Trondsen, "Ten years ago, I moved to Hong Kong. Was the first stamp on my passport. I was a model and I was trying to find my way as we all do when we're young. I was so out of my element. It was culture shock 101. I hated it. I mean I love Hong Kong now but i was spinning. The whole time I was in that moment, I was thinking it would be great if someone made a movie about this and they did now."

Life definitely imitating art as Henney himself had to assimilate into the life in Hong Kong.

If David Henney's good looks made fans swoon on the carpet trying to rush him to take photos, then his co-star Eliza Coupe adds to excitement of the romantic comedy.

Asked how Coupe and Henney were able to create that romantic funny chemistry, Coupe joked, "We hated each other the whole time." Eliza adds, "It was funny. He's from Michigan and I'm from New Hampshire and we're both from small towns. Immediately, the first day we met, we kind of come from carbon copies of each other's background but he's in the Mid-West and I'm in New England and so we just got along immediately."

Before rushing into the screening, Daniel Henney encourages people to watch the movies if they romantic comedy movies from the 90's."If you like movies from the 90's like "Doc Hollywood," "You've Got Mail," or "Sleepless In Seattle," you'll like this movie."

"Shanghai Calling" opens in Los Angeles and New York on February 15 along with digital download / Video on Demand on platforms such as iTunes and Google Play. For more information visit http://shanghaicalling.com
