Daniel Gillies, most known for playing Elijah Mikaelson on The CW’s “The Originals” and “The Vampire Diaries,” turns 38 years old today (March 14)!

Daniel Gillies was cast as Elijah Mikaelson, one of the world’s first vampires, on “The Vampire Diaries” in 2010. He first appeared in the season two episode “Rose” and continued to recur on the show until the end of the fourth season. In 2013, a spin-off featuring the family of originals began. “The Originals” airs Tuesdays at 8 pm on The CW!

Gillies also began starring on the Canadian supernatural medical drama “Saving Hope” in 2012. He plays Dr. Joel Goran, an orthopedic surgeon. In November of 2013, it was announced that the show was renewed for a third season! It will consist of eighteen episodes and air sometime this year.

The actor has also guest starred on several TV shows over the years, including “The Glades,” “True Blood,” and “NCIS.”
