Daniel Day-Lewis wins Best Actor Award for 'Lincoln' at Critics' Choice Awards (Video)

Daniel Day-Lewis won the Best Actor Award for his performance in 'Lincoln' at the 18th annual Critics' Choice Awards at Barker Hangar on Jan. 10, 2013 in Santa Monica, California. The awards show was hosted by Sam Rubin and was broadcast on the CW Network.

This is the third Critics' Choice Award win and fourth nomination for Daniel Day-Lewis. His previous Critics' Choice Awards were won in:

  • 2008 - Best Actor for "There Will Be Blood"
  • 2003 - Best Actor for "Gangs of New York"

Daniel Day-Lewis has also been nominated for Best Actor Golden Globe and a Best Actor Academy Award. The Golden Globes will be handed out this Sunday and the Academy Awards will be presented on the last Sunday in February.

In "Lincoln," as the Civil War continues to rage, America's president struggles with continuing carnage on the battlefield and as he fights with many inside his own cabinet on the decision to emancipate the slaves. The film stars Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field and David Strathairn.
