Actor Daniel Day Lewis appeared today with costars of his upcoming film “Nine”. Daytime host Oprah Winfrey asked Lewis if he jumped at the chance to do the film to which he replied “ I looked for every reason not to do it, and couldn't think of one fast enough.” So what made him do it? Director Rob Marshall who Lewis says could "charm the birds out of the trees". Lewis admits he doesn't like to rehearse but says for this film he was “forced to rehearse” the musical numbers.
A well known method actor Lewis admitted he tends to take his characters home after the filming is complete.
Said Lewis : “ No matter how long you spend making a film,in this case 6 months or 7, 8 you never fully explore the life, and the world of that character , and so your reluctant to say goodbye to it you've gone to all this trouble to create a new world and then your supposed to just throw it in the bin.”
Although he is a multi award winning actor, he lives a normal life with his wife Rebecca Miller, daughter of playwright Arthur Miller. Says Lewis he starts each day by "gouging" his kids Ronan Cal Day, and Cashel Blake Day out of bed, forcing food into them and then dragging them to the car for school .
