Introducing James Bond OO7 Daniel Craig Lookalike ...Max Ryder

Who would have thought that the performances of the great Sir Sean Connery and Sir Roger Moore would ever have been equaled or surpassed?

Daniel Craig’s stunning debut performance in Casino Royale set a new standard for James Bond, bringing a tougher realism to the character.

And when Daniel Craig cannot be there for his fans, as OO7, or be there just as himself, then lookalike Max Ryder can be, as he is a true Bond lookalike, a Craig, Daniel Craig lookalike that is.

He also speaks Japanese - is there no end to his talents!!  Max and Daniel are uncannily alike; they are the same height, weight, nationality, star sign, have the same hair and eye color and are both based in London!

During his interview this is what Max Ryder had to say...

How did you begin in this business? 

My friends and colleagues started to call me ‘OO' after Casino Royale and people would stare at me in the street! They suggested I become a lookalike and showed me some other Daniel Craig lookalikes. I thought, if they can do it, I can do it, and within a couple of months my diary [calendar] was full."  

Have you been in the entertainment industry before being Craig's lookalike?

No, but I learned quickly. Now I think nothing of emceeing at an award ceremony, riding a motorcycle through an award's dinner, bursting through a paper screen, shooting Spectre agents who have kidnapped a "guest" or fighting the bad guys with my bare hands. I’m now a fully paid up member of ‘Equity’, the British Actors Union."

How do people react when they see you? 

There is a moment of silence, a double take and then a smile and then we usually chat about Bond. So I have to know my subject."

I'm sure in or out of a tux you look like him, is it difficult sometimes to have a normal life? 

Living in London, I do get recognized from events that I have done and also people will come up to me and say I look like Daniel. Either way I don’t mind the attention and enjoy chatting about 007, after all, it’s quite flattering to be compared to Daniel Craig."

Does your family and friends support your new lookalike mission? 

My family and friends think it’s great and like to keep up with what I’m doing by looking at my website."

What do you think your future holds in regard to being Craig's lookalike? 

I’m enjoying it so much I don’t want it to end! After all, it’s every guy’s dream to be James Bond. I get to travel the world, stay in five star hotels. There’s the Aston Martin’s and of course… the Bond girls. I hope Daniel will stay on and be the longest serving 007, not just for self interest! I think he’s right up there with Sir Sean and Sir Roger."

Have you always been a Bond fan?

Yes very much so, I always remember the old black bakelite telephone in our family house bore the number 34007.. a strange portent of things to come perhaps? I’ve watched the films over and over again and never tire of them or the music. In fact I’m learning the Bond soundtracks on the piano at the moment."

In additon to playing piano what other talents do you have?

I speak Japanese - I lived in Japan for a while. I also have a Roger Moore moving eyebrow…which I have incorporated into my act."

What about "his" clothes and accessories?

You wouldn’t believe the time spent researching and sourcing the right tuxedo’s, dress shirts, sunglasses, etc.. I find that Bond fans are very knowledgeable and appreciate the attention to detail. I have a Casino Royale outfit and a Quantum of Solace one. I can relax now until the next movie!"

How is your six pack?

I live near a Royal Park and can often be seen running in there, just in case I need to don those pale blue trunks!"

Do you have a favorite Bond quote?

Yes, it is from Casino Royale, when asked if Craig's Bond wants his martini shaken or stirred, Daniel Craig answers, 'Do I look like I give a damn?'

Could you share one of your best moments being Bond?

I was invited by a friend of a client in Portugal to have a private viewing of her very large classic car collection. I spent the morning sitting in classic Aston Martin’s, Ferrari’s and Bentley’s. Meeting and working with celebrities is always great, although sometimes it’s just the simple things like after a show, going to a restaurant with other lookalikes and watching peoples' reactions."
