Danica Patrick was hit in the head by a rock while racing on a dirt track. The NASCAR driver is not having the best March so far after having one of the “most significant crashes of her career” on Sunday, according to Yahoo Sports on Friday, March 8, 2013.
The rock hit Danica so hard that she felt as if she had a concussion. After getting medically checked out, she was found to be just fine, with no concussion onboard. The rock hit her “straight in the head,” reports the history making NASCAR driver.
Danica was wearing a hat at the time the rock clocked her and she said she was happy for that “or there would have been blood.”
Sunday in Phoenix, Patrick smashed into a wall with about 100 laps left to go in the race. She was left with a stiff nick from that accident.
Patrick has made history with NASCAR as becoming the first female to win the pole and lead green flag laps at the 2013 Daytona 500 last month. She finished eighth in that race.
